Black CAD has no servers of its own. It does not collect, sell or share personal data, and it has no ads, analytics or tracking.
If you choose to sign in, Black CAD stores your design files in your own account:
blackcad-files in your account. The app reads your GitHub username to show who is signed in.drive.file permission, which only lets it see files it created. Files are saved in a Drive folder called "Black CAD". The app reads your email address only to show which account is signed in.Sign-in tokens are stored only on your device. Use "Sign out" in the app to delete them, and you can revoke access at any time in your GitHub or Google account settings. Your files stay in your account until you delete them.
Black CAD's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google data is used only to save and open your designs, is never transferred to anyone else, and is never used for advertising or to train AI models.
If you add your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key, your prompts and the current design are sent directly to that provider to answer them. Black CAD never sends Google or GitHub data to an AI provider. A local AI model can be used instead, which keeps everything on your device.
Ordering a board opens the manufacturer's website in your browser. Nothing is uploaded unless you do it there.
